Wacky Mommy is a Portland, Ore. native and self-described “Eastside Rat” who has two small kids (Wacky Girl, age 7 1/2, and Wacky Boy, age 5), Wacky Cat 1 and Wacky Cat 2, and Hockey God, her hockey-playing computer guy husband.
Wacky Dog, friend and companion, passed away in February 2007.
She writes, gardens, edits, drinks too much coffee, forgets to fix dinner and freaks out occasionally. She confuses the following words: “compost” and “recycle” (aren’t they the same thing, really?); “condone” and “condemn”; “pediatrician” and “veterinarian.”

As a fellow Eastside Rat in Portland, my suspicion is that we may have met… in any case, I have unfortunately found your site to be great reading… this is primarily unfortunate for me, as I’m supposed to be working, but have been distracted by your archives instead. And thanks for the good word on The Big Book of Girl Stuff! Much appreciated.
